First Born

Don’t you want to know me, to understand?

Why do you keep pushing me to a distant land?

Don’t you know my heart is soft?

Just a smile and a hug from you, and it would lift off.

I’m made of flesh, bone and water

Don’t you remember me? I’m your first born daughter.

Nothing more painful then feeling like your being overlooked and forced to draw attention to yourself.

Sometimes, being a first born can feel like a liability. Nice sentiments...

The last line is like driving a knife through the heart. Quite a sad tale that has been woven into this poem.

While this poem is short it is full of emotion. I love how you describe the feelings of the daughter, her pain. I think you wrote this really well. Great poem!

A powerful message in the poem. It is sad we separate from the people we love. World create separation that need strong bridges to connect friends and family. A very good poem with some wisdom to be learn. We need to keep in contact with the good people we love in a life. A outstanding poem.
