January's Gale

January's Gale

January’s Gale

Stray winter leaves

On the trees

Whisper as they

Blow in the breeze

Don’t leave

Please, don’t leave!

As January’s

Gale groans

Her hollow moan

The witch’s lone

Black cat scatters

As I travel home

While the Sun’s

Descent begins

She nods at me, she grins

For she’ll lead my whipped body

To my road’s end

I actually was hiking Saturday at a park close to where I live. The wind was blowing and I noticed the brown stray leaves blowing in the wind. Made me think of this poem. Funny the places you find inspiration in, I was just walking around in a bunch of dead leaves with the wind blowing.

I really like this, great imagery of winter in this poem. Winter can be pretty as well as harsh. Fantastic end result of your inspiration.

Lovely poem.
I like the colour silver you have used to write in, as it denotes winter so very well.

Cold and beautiful.

Not so strange, a cold wind blows the final decaying leaves all around, they often dance without any sound, leaving the mind to fill with natures inspirations deep. It's another lovely poem
