How you

Curl-up

Into a ball

In my small

Chubby hand

In self-defense

How I wish

I was so

Clever,

When night

Falls and

Daddy’s

Anger

Brings

Danger

To our

Warm

And

Comfy

Home

Too many children are victims of domestic violence. I wrote this one night after volunteering at a children's shelter and seeing a child with a black eye.

Oh I hate violence against children. It is a horrible thing, I wish that it would cease to exist.
Your poem speaks of truth, I'm glad you can stand up and say something like this!

Sad and ful of the pathos of such situations... clever use of childish language

This piece has a lethal innocence about it.

Too true; some people just don't seem to care, do they? This is a wonderful poem, very deep and powerful. Really well written and structured, great job. Poor kids... I mean, they may scare me at times but no one deserves that... Amazing work, keep it up~
