Loves Bitter Tale

Loves Bitter Tale

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A salty dog lover's sea tale

"

- Love’s Bitter tale -

Love’s grown icy,

Bold As a northern

seas Mighty gale

Lover’s sweet tales

Have long since sailed

Where hot raging fires

Once danced and devoured

Dense, hearty wood

Only an empty charred

Pit remains

Bittersweet dreams

Of yesterday haunt and seize

At crack of dawn

Gentle tears roll and flow

As violent sobs are drawn

Holding Back

A tumultuous

Flood of emotions

That Her fragile

levee contains

Till morning bluebird

Sings her Ginger

morning dew song

Lifeless lovers

Repressing the

Passing of

A passion

That has

Since passed

Along

Leaving hearts flaccid

And bodies

Too frigid to hold

At Last

Their love has

Grown cold

This was murky and dark. The feelings of it all are violent...
as each line hits harder than the one before. You went to
a place we dont like to admit exists. Even in the sorrow and
depressing sights..it is beautiful writing. I was thoroughly
entertained and equally impressed by the vast range of your
writing abilities.

This is beautiful! My favorite lines: "Gentle tears roll and flow
As violent sobs are drawn."
This is almost melodic as KL said.

Melodic. Almost reads as a lullaby despite its contrasting nature. Very nice.

Till morning bluebird
Sings her Ginger
morning dew song

Wow what a melodic way with words... love can freeze a heart and melt it too, that is what makes it so mysterious.

A nice amount of depth and emotion in this, and it's really well written and presented. As always, great job, keep it up!~

Lifeless lovers Repressing the Passing of A passion That has Since passed Along. So, so sad. I have seen this too many time before. I just than God that my relationship with my wife is moving the opposite way. What a thought provoking poem. brings me close to tears.
