Do You Think About Me?

My heart skips a beat

When I hear our beach song

That reminds me of you

 

It’s been years since

I’ve heard that Moody Blues tune

 

But my heart begins to flutter

When I talk I start to stutter

My head fills with clutter

 

Once the music plays

I feel my body sway

I close my eyes and I feel

Your hands between my thighs

Giving me a surprise

 

My body again feels anew

Suddenly my lips yearn to kiss you

 

To feel the pure

Bliss like they used to

 

All these years I’ve

Been so blue without you

 

Oh how we danced

Playing in the California sun

 

That’s where

We had our fun

 

I wonder if you think about me

When our song is sung

A very beautiful and emotion filled poem. It reminds me of the taste of a fine cognac. It was simply wonderful to read, and those of us that long for that former love, it says all that we think.

Pretty good, Marie! This could be amongst your better poems, don't you think? Well, it starts in a quite flirty tone - gradually becoming romantic as the poem develops. Perhaps, this demonstrates that a romantic poem need not be blatantly sexual or crude? Interestingly, a specific song is mentioned towards the start of this poem. This is known to the man and woman, and they seem to have known one another in the past. Indeed, there are other clues in this piece - which remind the reader that this blissful love is a distant one from the present day, even though the protagonist clearly enjoyed those moments with real passion! A mere fantasy, or inspired by fond memories? Only the writer knows for sure!
