Definately describes a person trying to escape an addiction. It's like it rises up as the most terrible beast, trying to convince you that your 'resistance is futile'. That you are destined to become it's Borg drone (sorry 4 the StarTrek imagery - yes I am that sad).
This is very descriptive but seemed to lack enough emotion. Unfortunately I can't quite isolate why that was. It's like you left something out but I don't know what it could be.
Please don't get me wrong. This is a very good poem, I just sense you have more. Hope that makes sense to you.
This is fantastic! It's so wonderfully worded and just... wowowwowowowowowow. I can't describe it. You know when you just love something and can't find out to describe why you love it, you just do? Yeah, that's me right now! This is wondeful and oNFIOANWOIGT love it! Keep up the good work!~
Drown me in your black hole lol shant tell you the picture that painted for me.
And yes addiction is certainly a beast that can devour one whole or piecemeal, well written Marie
wow this was just great work, brilliant imagery here. i love your analogy of the "beast" being the addiction, and that sure reminded me of Metallica's song "Master of Puppets". (Yes, it was written about drug abuse.) Bullet For My Valentine also has a song like that called "The Last Fight", and this poem sure reminded me of those, effectively tripling this poem's power. nice work!!
