My Time

Many days go by

I wish that I could die

If only it was my time

I wish I may

I wish I might

Death was the plight

I had in my sights

Now those

Wishes have lifted

They drifted

Away like a red kite

Now I smile happily

At my cotton candy life

As I peacefully sigh

But Cindy’s battle

 Is about to end

I only wish I could send

Her the rest of my life

In order to keep

Hers from ending

If I could give what

I have left to lend

Not that I want

My life to end

Cindy

She’s a mother

A wife

A sister

Someone too special

For the world to lose

I’m nothing to the wind

No one would care if I end

If only it was my life to lend

Cindy, she’ll leave

So much behind

It’s such a crime

If she’s to die like this

If only she could

 Have more time

If only it was my life

I’d lend her mine

Because my

Cousin Cindy

Is so kind

Author's Note

Marie Harrison
My cousin has been sick for a few years now. She's been so courageous. I wish there was something I could do to help her live longer. She's so special and she's been so brave. Maybe the doctor's will save her again. I got bad news on Christmas Day. My thoughts and prayers have gone out to her. She's fierce and strong, a true power source!

this was so touching and beautiful, and all our prayers go out to her. so sweet and powerful work, and this goes really really deep. after all, when do we realise the value of life but when we or others are close to the end? great work!

I wish she will be heal! I can see she really mean to you,
yes, they are right, you cannot die to make her live longer, but yes, she can live happier, and the doctor WILL safe her, and she will be back to your side!
Hope you are feeling well

Amen Marie. Well written and I definitely understand the sentiment.

"...cotton candy life" I love that line. It's such a transition from the previous lines. Lovely poem that gives the reader mixed emotions. I'm sorry about your cousin
