Life Unexpected

(Life Unexpected)

Life is rich

Yet light and airy

It’s bald and raw

But hairy and scary

Life runs smooth like a river

It jars my neck as it

Crashes down the mountain

Life is expected

But full of surprises

Life is free to enjoy

But death is the

Ultimate price to pay

Life is here

Life is at death’s door

Then it’s here no more

Life is me

Until I’m free

Author's Note

Marie Harrison
Just thinking about the broad spectrums of life. How there are so many different perspectives of life and death. How they change and convert so suddenly but so in such a subtle way too. Life is a mystery often.

If life holds out it's hand,
takes you on a midnight oh so grand,
I wonder if just this once you will come and make a stand,
and we may walk till the sunrise.

Loved your poem, yet even death is not certain, for a way exists

A good poem is one that makes you think. This did just that. Good work.

Wow! Very well written.

An interesting take on life. I think the metaphor of the river suits this poem best. Even the most gentle river will become volatile when it descends a mountain. With every positive in life, there is an equally negative of it. Philosophical physics. Great read!

Very Nice written! I love the way you describe life! I think you have thrown lots of effort of this poem on what life is like!

This lines were very true, death is always a price we need to pay after enjoying! I agree, life is a mystery sometimes, we never know what we happen next!
