The Girl

The Girl

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem about one's drive to thrive.

"

The Girl

She’s come undone

Her edges are frayed

And she’s been played

But they haven’t won

Lots of gumption she’s displayed

From solid persistence she’s made

Full of giggles and fun

By her people are dismayed

With her, there’s history to be made.

She’s come undone

Only to be remade.

Great poem. Very true and I love the imagery and flow.

It reads like some sort of on screen narrative.

Salute reinvention! You go and keep dancing, girlfriend!

Simple, and yet still quite uplifting and entertaining to read! It looks as if this may have been written, quite spontaneously? The rhyme flow is a little abrupt, but the meanings in this poem are all clear and in line with the Author's Note comments. Thankyou, Marie! Keep writing and expressing yourself!

Nice feeling here. Coming "undone" is a great poetic phrase. One I have used before. Nice poetic feel and rhyme.
