Author's Note

End of the year bonus from my clients was what I used to look forward. Even when I worked in corporate I looked forward to bonus time. No matter what the size of the bonus, getting a bonus was so exciting. I think everyone deserves some sort of bonus at the end of the year!

It all depends... Seems to me that too many people have been paid bonuses in the past which bore no relation to performance - and at the end of a day, if a company is not doing so well, how can it pay bonuses? We have developed a culture of expectation that people have a right to things regardless of whether it is affordable... So I would forget end-of-year bonuses altogether and let people have a share in the profits - if there are any - at the end of the financial year...
