“My Heart’s

Magnificent Moon”

O’ Moon so bright

Guide me with your

Beaming light

 

Make all the broken

Paths vivid to my sight

 

Dear Crescent Moon swoon me

With your aura’s might

 

Comfort me when

All hope is blight

 

When I’m belligerent

To my fellow man

Show me how to be polite

 

O Faithful Moon be

My handsome knight

Every lonesome

Night of my life

 

Be my loyal friend until

My final curtain descends

I was walking in the bright moonlight tonight and was inspired by my knightly muse.

Yes, I like your play on the words "night" and "Knight", by the way. Although quite simple, this has a true poetic structure and seems to capture the mystique of the moonlight. Interestingly, the moon is sometimes associated with various states of mind, ranging from love, dark forces to insanity. This poem appears to be more than just a tribute, to the natural beauty of the moon. It is also (perhaps), a romantic cry for a "Knight in shining armour" to befriend this lady?
