Fractured Dreams
A Poem by
Marie Harrison
A poem about dreams.
Fractured Dreams
Shards of broken glass
Piece together what’s
Left of my dreams
They used to run in
Bright
Defined
Fluid streams
Now they
Are cracked
Warped
And have no theme
What to do with
Broken dreams?

Rebuild them.. Great write

Hm, this is a good poem, but I do have a problem with the ending. "What to do with broken dreams?" isn't exactly proper grammar. "What to do" is pretty common, though, so if you want to keep that, I'd suggest putting "with" in the last line instead. If not, you could just say "what should we/I do with broken dreams?"

1. Smash them until they're dust
2. add water and soak for 24 hours
3. pour dream sludge into cheese cloth
4. drain excess water
5. Kneed on burlapped table
6. toss it on the wheel of life and form into a new dream.
At least that's what I'd do!
Cheers! ; )

Re-assemble in a Picasso-esque jigsaw.
I recalled an amusing utterance I made in a dream last night to a lover: "I'm a theologian of skin."
I also partly recall some Sufi fable about an infatuation w/a kind of crystal ball dream incubator. It ended w/the dreamer shattering the ball himself w/a hammer.
Cool accompanying image.

Sad, its always sad when our dreams are broken. But we can always make new dreams or try again with the ones broken if its possible.
