Turning Away From Emptiness

I thought I really knew you!

You weren’t a sweet and noble man

He was my fantasy,

Someone I thought I saw in you.

Mostly you were wasted space, an empty trash can

Money and emptiness weren't enough for me,

Needed someone that could be genuine and true

Release you to seeking company, roaming the lands

Time my heart finally set you free

Hope you find happiness and a warm hand

Someone new to serve you a steaming hot cup of tea

On my own now doing my best without a husband

Most days I’m as happy as can be

And with time it gets happier... doing those little things everyday is the first step in moving forward... I like this, a simple pouring out of emotions.

That poem reminds me of someone I know. You're better off without him.

You are one strong woman. The resolve in your words is an
inspiration. It is a joy to see a person learn to love themself.
It seems that you have found the path to true happiness.
Thanks for this lesson, Sweet Marie!

wow, this ish eartbreaking and well written, of course your talent flows
across the page, in ways the reader can identify with, tragic and
insightful, your pen never ceases to amaze the blank page with emotion
