Lavender Fields of San Juan

Lavender Fields of San Juan

A Poem by Marie Harrison

Lavender Fields of San Juan

Lavender fields cover
the rolling San Juan Islands,
perfect place to go to recover
from the worries of the world.

The perfect place to twirl
around and feel like a girl again,
as herds of cows wander around grazing
on the fresh mounds of lavender.

The salty ocean air mixes
with the fresh floral fragrant
scent of wild lavender instantly
boosts your moral.

If you keep a watchful
eye on the carefree ocean's bay
you'll likely see the
whales frolic and play
with the silver dolphins
who flirt and taunt them.

Sounds so very peaceful and lovely. A perfect place to go to relax and find yourself again before returning to the 'real world."

This reminds me of my trip to Costa Rica! :) Well done, you captured the natural beauty of the world perfectly in your poem.
