Escaping Hysteria

Ashes remain after a burning

fire that has raged and waned.

A phoenix lifts his heavy head to view the hysteria.

Apologies are desired but never come at the right time.

Alive and awake is a yearning to escape this state of dementia.

Away from these tragic and blackened grounds he glides.

Aloof he is from the ties that bound him to this utopia.

A new day in a bright land and his senses

are heightened and his hopes are rekindled.

Awakening his sense of self,

he has ended his darkest days of insomnia.

Wow...........loved the whole layout, and it reminded me of a book I have called Dinotopia (I think!) which has such brilliant pictures of survival of dinosaurs who live with the human race..........your phoenix has strength and wisdom, hopes awakened, loved it, felt as if it had a very old fashioned feel to it of days long gone.
