Escaping Hysteria

Ashes remain after a burning

fire that has raged and waned.

A phoenix lifts his heavy head to view the hysteria.

Apologies are desired but never come at the right time.

Alive and awake is a yearning to escape this state of dementia.

Away from these tragic and blackened grounds he glides.

Aloof he is from the ties that bound him to this utopia.

A new day in a bright land and his senses

are heightened and his hopes are rekindled.

Awakening his sense of self,

he has ended his darkest days of insomnia.

twisting images that burst into the light and sedate the senses into a first sleep :)

I like this write, it shows struggling through hope..

Wonderful word choice- I found it amusing how almost every line began with "A". :)

Nice write altogether.

Everything about this works so well.. The imagery you create with the flow of words... The sentences beginning with A.. the font.. the color.. It all blended into a hopeful vision of today..

Very well written. The imagery is fantastic and inspirational. I also really like the form the poem takes, unconventional.

Striking accompanying image.

And an interesting take on the phoenix from the ground, this classic Egyptian symbol of longevity followed by death and resurrection is here presented as the weary survivor of a five-alarm fire (at a "recycling plant," mayhaps? ;-).

LOVE the layout. Now for the poem, such a hopeful write in a male voice. Real "clean" write. When I say that I mean concise.

Love the layout of this, first time I've seen it and it works well. Interesting poem, I get a sense of hope from the ashes of some sort of destruction and the phoenix, forever the symbol of rebirth from death, enhances that feeling for me.

The newness of a rebirth is a precious thing.
