A Strange Encounter

What was that sound I heard

Come from under my bed?

It was light,

Yet moving rapidly?

It almost sounded

Like it was flying.

It seems to be fumbling,

Because I just heard

It thump into the wall.

OOh! Oh my,

It keeps thumping

Into the wall,

Like it can't see.

MMMM,

I'm afraid to look,

My head is safely tucked

Under the covers.

This house is really old,

No telling what the hell it could be.

Hardly anyone ever sleeps,

In this room anymore.

I'm going to

ignore it.

It's nothing.

I'll go back

 to sleep.

Maybe count a few sheep.

Make my to do

list for tomorrow.

This is silllllly!

It's probably a wasp

Or a butterfly or

A fly-something.

Eeeeeeeeeeek!

Hoooly Heeellll!

It hit my head!

I'm looking back,

As I run for cover in

Safety of the bathroom,

With my blanket wrapped

Around me, like a cape!

Oh Lord,

Everyone is asleep,

I can't wake them up.

How could they

Sleep through that!

I muster up

The courage,

To run back,

And turn the

Light switch on.

Or I could be in

This bathroom forever.

Boohoo Shiiiit!  Holy S**t!

It's a baaaaaaaat!

I leave to go sleep,

In the safety of my car,

With my blanket covering

Me like a cape,

Free from bat dreams.

A true story about my Mom last year, sleeping in a room in my Uncle's house that's rarely slept in. If only I could have been a fly on that wall!

My mom had a bat in her room last summer. If I hadn't been in there at the time she would have slept through the incidence lol. Ended up catching it with a net and transporting it outside. Cute little bugger until I got the net over it, man what UGLY teeth though lol Love this!

Infectious. Lots of fun. But some bats are cute, so my husband tells me.
