CrayonsA Poem by Marie HarrisonA poem about coloring with crayons.
Crayons Crayons you take me Somewhere new, Where my childhood Won't seem so blue.
Your colors put Me in a trance, When I think about The pictures of Romance where They take me. Maybe we'll sail where Christopher Columbus' ships Blew their sails to, Where the waters were filled With pink mermaids with bright Red hair. Or shall I color a rainbow, Where secret gardens grow Cherry color dinosaurs Who walked around A long time ago Eating brown fudgesicles And gingerbread cookies too. I'll show your colors to my Mom when I get home, To see if she cares. For now I'll color my rocks, Of the cave where I sit When I'm feeling grey With you.
