He Kissed Me So Dreamily

He Kissed Me So Dreamily

He Kissed Me So Dreamily

Of course it was all years ago now

Did I tell you that?

Long since married with a family of his own

Moved far away beyond my reach

Unable to get him back

He was so much younger than I

Which made my beating heart race so

Everyone disapproved of course

Even me

Just work colleagues to start with

Perching on each others desks

Laughing and chatting together

So obvious now I look back

Inexplicabaly drawn to each other

But he won me over with his boyish charms…

His dashing good looks

Sweet tender lips that

Kissed me so dreamily

Those kisses bring women like us to our knees

That’s how I find myself here

 Dancing with the airport security

They’ve been chasing me around

Asking me what my real name is and

Why I’m so scantily dressed

My “Stack of Dashing Good Looks”

With his dreamy kisses

Bought me this black leather mini dress

He airmailed it to me

With a note begging me to greet him

In the airport wearing it

With a red rose in my mouth

Bless his heart!

He also mailed this crisp airline ticket,

That could possibly be illegal

Cause I keep having to

Explain why my first

Name is Ed to the ticket agent

They keep asking me why Ed is not on

My driver’s license or my luggage tags.

Was I named after my Grandfather?

I could be stranded in this airport

Dressed like a hooker forever

Because of a man’s allure

Women are jumping over

Hurdles in their high heels all day

 In this airport

Just to taste a man’s

Dreamy kisses and

Boyish charms tonight!

Oh, if only I could

Our passion he took with him

in my dreams I relive in expectation

His dreamy kiss on my lips each night

Marie, you have kissing on the brain don't you? LOL. Anyway, I liked this a lot. The emotions are thick and evident. As a reader you can feel what the author was trying to say. What they were going through at the time of writing this. Excellent work.

I want the video!!!
ridl
seriously though, nice piece. I like how it is narrated more forcefully then most poems, dropping out to ask if you told us that already. and all of us i think have that one we dream about from the past, no matter how much better for us our current lover is. (although mine isn't a man!)
