Gentleman's Call

Gentleman's Call

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A personal ad.

"

Gentleman’s Call

Currently seeking

A confident,

Intelligent and

Willing companion.

Who runs like

A wild stallion

And doesn’t

Drink gallons

But sports

A six pack

And a firm

And full

Backpack.

A Godly man

Who’s yearning

To show up

To take part

In a romantic waltz

With me from

Start to finish

Showing lots of

Heart throughout

The duration

In and out

Of the dark.

One who smiles

Like the sun

And likes

To have lots

Of fun and who knows

Lots of puns and how

To be a great

Companion.

I’m seeking one who

Will stand-up for me

And let people know

That I’m his number one

No matter what comes.

A man who seeks a life

Of adventure and

High adrenaline time.

One whose mind is open

To the unknown

With a heart of

Hope and passion.

To take my hand

And lead me to beaches

Of fine sugar white sands

And frolic with me with

The dolphins and the

Manatees and will

forever kiss

And tease me,

One who knows

Just how to

Please me.

I’m looking

For a gentleman

Whose heart is true

To peer into

My eyes of Blue.

`

One Who would like

To tenderly spoon

With me for

A lifetime

Of dreamtime.

Drop me a line

If it sounds like

You’re this kind

Of guy.

I promise

I’ll make it worth

Your dime and time.

I’ll make you a pie

Of key lime and will

Be your sublime siren

For a lifetime of

Sunshine smiles

And ecstasy sighs.

This is a great discription of what we'd hope a gentleman could be. Awesome.

Fun to read too! Poem as personal ad is a fun format.

You've done an excellent job w/the format, managing to be fun and provocative -- and very pleasing to the ear:

"I promise/I’ll make it worth/Your dime and time./I’ll make you a pie/Of key lime and will/Be your sublime siren/For a lifetime of/Sunshine smiles/And ecstasy sighs."

Shiny appealing rhymes, and the first time I've seen "key lime" w/"sublime" -- thus appealing to the spirit and libido and belly brilliantly w/one sound! ;-)

If only finding love were as easy as putting an ad in the paper, or writing a poem about it on the internet. :) I'm one of those people who's content with being alone, but even though this poem didn't apply to me I could still feel for you and your emotions were pulsing in every word. Its a type of poem that makes people smile, laugh and joke, but when you think about it, when you take it seriously the pain of being lonely must be overwhelming. I really enjoyed reading it nonetheless and it is a beautiful piece that is wonderfully written. Thank you so much for sharing.
