Moon Drops
A Poem by
Marie Harrison
A fantasy poem about the moon for children.
Moon Drops
Mr. Moon,
Why do you
Wink at me?
Don't you know it's
Only noon.
It's too soon
To crawl in my
Cocoon to go
To sleep.
I need to fish,
I need to eat,
I need to play
In the lagoon
With the other
Raccoons.
Why are you always
Winking at me
Mr. Moon?
Or is there
A moon drop
In your eye?
Maybe celestial
Beings get
The blues
Too?
Are you lonesome
For someone to swoon
With, Mr. Moon?

Oh this poem is beautiful!! I love it
"Are you lonesome
For someone to swoon
With, Mr. Moon?"
I LOVE THAT PART!
See this reminds me of my poem "My Crescent moon" :D
This is beautiful and the loneliness is sad, but you did a nice job on it!!

This is a really great poem! I especially like the fourth stanza; there's just something so awesome about it! Great job again!

I love the innocence of this piece, in fact I kept thinking of children and not until the notes did I realize your thoughts.

I really enjoyed reading this piece! The thought of children whilst reading it, like you said, is very prominent; very clear demographically.
Despite the fact that the end isnt so happy for the Moon, this poem has that joyous feel, and definitely something you can relate to (after all, havent we all wondered why the Moon is visible in the daytime!)
You have a way with words, a great read :)
