Seducing The Jazz Butterfly

Seducing The Jazz Butterfly

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem about jazz.

"

"Seducing The

Jazz Butterfly"

Sax, how you

Float up and down

Zigzagging through

Your high squeaky notes

And sultry throaty tones,

Slyly caressing

My silky flesh

Buttons nightly.

Seductively

You spread

My bejeweled and

 Speckled  wings open,

Pensively peering into the hollow

Mystic caverns of my

Melancholy soul.

Oh, how well

You know me,

Discovering more

Each twilight melody

You magically produce.

With the wandering smooth palm

Of your steady hand,

You seduce me discreetly

In front of a smokey

Crowded room.

Your trilling rhapsody

Lifts me up with such electric elation

To soar and peak in the

Twinkling celestial

Skies high above.

Yet so quickly,

Your intoxicating low

Staccato beat

Stomps me out,

Like the butt of a used

Cigarette.

Each jazzy encore

My zealous wings

Flutter back for more,

They're addicted to your

Smoldering night heat.

I'm addicted to live jazz. I'm not sure about the title. I'm still tweaking this one.

The poem was carried well throughout but i felt that the title wasn't so apt, maybe its just from my point of view, the poem was good and i could say overall it was a fantastic and feel good one..

A butterfly's wings are among the most delicate of nature's bounty. It's always a sight to see them quiver and pause and quiver.
