Wedding Band

Wedding Band

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem about destructive connections.

Wedding Band

Chatting on-line day after day,

My affection growing for you in small ways.

Trying to maintain distance,

Knowing that you belong to another.

Growing more and more fond

As if a magic wand has seized power over me.

Suddenly you’re leaving your wife over me,

But that wasn’t my intention,

I didn’t want to hurt another!

I was just talking,

Reaching out and comforting another

From across an internet line.

Who knew that broadband,

Could cost someone their wedding band?

This is good. I really like the font it's in...like, it creates this more formal and wedding-like atmosphere. This is such a great piece. It's very original and creative.
