Single Days

Single Days

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A wedding poem

"

*Singles Days*

Rosy trim

And fancy

flowers,

Cover me

In white lace and in

Pearls, because

Today is my

Wedding Day.

Life may come

And life may pass,

But

After today

My days of

Being single

Will have passed

With the wind.

I still remember the day I got married (many moons ago).....the new journey from single to being a wife..........I often wonder now I am divorced if dressing in white with flowers etc is not like some sacrificial thing!
I enjoyed the wistfulness of your piece.

So simple. Sounds so happy and light. Great choice of words! I love it!
