Would You Stay?A Poem by Marie HarrisonA love poem of yearning for a former lover.
Would You Stay?
My heart yearns for you on Sundays. Memories of you flood my mind in various streams and tributaries on that day.
I long to hold your hand and run through the rain and hear the loving things your voice would say.
Your joy and persona beamed on me like sun's majestic rays.
I wish you were here to hold me to reassure me that everything in my life without you will be okay.
Without your smile and your love in my life, all of my skies are grey.
I long to kiss and roll around, like we used to when we were young, to roll in the golden hay.
I wonder if I saw you on the street, one day when I was looking fine and I caught your eye, would you stay with me forever and embrace me with love, if I asked you to stay?
