blue fields of wild indigo

blue fields of wild indigo

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

a nature write about enjoying spring before winter comes

"
blue fields of wild indigo

chirping red robins
bobbing house wrens

perched high
sing a soft lullabye

as the black mother hen
fluffs her fresh nest of twigs
to lay her speckled eggs

the first leg of lady spring is here
her sweetest scent is floating in the air
with the buzzing bumble bees

the white aura of this virgin beauty
flows like a river
in a brisk breeze through our hair

not long before she disappears
and the first tender sprouts of
july rye will appear

come on
lets run through
the blue fields of wild indigo
where the quarterhorses roam

we'll play with the
frisky spotted fawn until sundown

while we're young and free
lets live like gods until dawn

sowing our oats in the sun's glory
until we need our coats of down
on a dead of winter morning

The uplifting emotion flows with brilliance! Your ink pulls me into the scene and let's me revel in the youthful vibrancy and playful scenery that you have painted.

While we are young... life is indeed a blessing and we do indeed need to let ourselves live it rather than just exist through it.

Great work!

A nature write about enjoying spring and summer before winter comes. Enjoy life before you get old and die.
