Midnight Affection

Midnight Affection

A Poem by Marie Harrison

Midnight Affection

My Beloved,

with the glow of the moon

and the dance of the stars above,

as you sleep soundly in your bed,

with a sea of warm covers and pillows,

I long to gently trace the edges

of your lips with my fingertips.

Darling,

as the sandman visits you,

if I could softly sneak a luscious kiss or two,

along the sweet creases of your lips,

without disturbing your blissful sleep,

 I would.

My soft hand would lovingly caress your hair,

to soothe and calm your restlessness,

as you dream of swimming in the aqua- green sea with me.

I would whisper in my lightest voice,

my deepest sentiments of devotion,

to reveal my true emotions,

that ebb and flow each night for you.

My Love,

only the most peaceful and satisfying motions,

would I do to please you each night as you rest.
