Hypocrisy to the depths

Hypocrisy to the depths

A Story by Chhawi

I always hated hypocrisy. It always filled me with the rage how a person judges you for the same thing he has been doing in different aspects maybe or would have been done the same if in your shoes. But I find my peace with it as soon as I realised who am I to comment. I had done the same thing and ill keep on doing it because that's what we do. That's how a brain works. I blamed my best friend for doing the same things I had done recently and for what for not having right reasons. There are nothing like right reasons anyway. We all bend our rules, our believes according to our conveniences, then what those believes stands for that can be bend for you not for other just because you know your so called SITUATIONS but don't know even a little about the person you are judging.
Let me just give an example to tell you what I really mean. Reading 11 minutes now. It made me wonder why d hell its OK for everyone to choose their profession yoga after doing B.Tech or IT field when parents wants you to b a lecturer. Why its OK for you to choose everything for yourself but when you come across to people who choose prostitution and not forced to you feel disgusted. why its OK to pass comments on someone else's daughters or sisters and bad when same thing happens to you.

I am not feminist here. Why its OK for you to cry over silly things and a man have to b strong every time. Why we expect them to b reasonable every time when we are unreasonable most of the time.

Aren't we all hypocrites, living life with our perceptions, judging people, accusing them. We are one of those 4 logs people keep referring to. Accept the fact that we all are different individuals with probably the same issues but different ways to handle things. I am not saying there isn't a right or wrong in this world. Of course there is. But who decides what's rights and what not. I never found any book on that & even if there was I would have never believed in it and I don't remember God had given power to anyone of us to state right and wrong for others. If possible just focus on yourself rather than stating others faults, suffering, happiness. Trust me life will be a lot simpler and beautiful.

According to the Bible, hypocrisy got its start, not among humans, but with an unseen spirit creature. Early in human history, Satan the Devil used a serpent as a mask and portrayed himself as a benefactor in order to mislead the first woman, Eve. Since then, many humans have similarly made themselves out to be something they were not, and they have done this to deceive others and to achieve selfish aims. But it will end I don't know how, when or where. But it will end when we all will know that its the demon that exist in each of us.

If you really want to be true to yourself, you must continually be on the lookout for times when you are giving people a double standard. A double standard is really a form of hypocrisy where you hold people accountable in a certain way but you do not hold that same accountability for yourself. In order to develop your ‘self’ and your personal integrity, you have to be able to hold yourself to the same standard that you hold everyone else to.

P.S. Lemme know if you find any ways to handle the hypocrisy. I would like to control it too.

Hypocrisy is something which depends on many factors and these factors drive/run human behaviour.
So if we know all d scenarios where-in a normal human being is about to become a hypocrite person or about to take any such action, then by checking ourselves at that very time, we can avoid being a hypocrite.
Just as to avoid an accident, we must know n follow traffic rules, similarly if we keep some checks on us then we might avoid ourself from becoming a hypocrite.

Now the main point is to understand what r the factors/parameters which forces us to adopt dual standards. Couple of them are as follows:
- Selfishness
- Taking emotional decision
- Making perception without actually knowing d facts
- Resisting taking a stand against wrong things(or to come out of comfort zone or ones conveniences)
- Stop pretending being others
(there may me many other reasons too)

U have very well said that same thing seems justified to us when we do it for our sake but we get filled with rage when someone else do.

If we just start respecting other persons freedom or choices or way of living life and start minding our own business..we can avoid being a hypocrite.

Basic law of nature says that everyone likes/tends to do what they find happiness in.
So most d time if person/animal does something wrong then there might be some reason behind that.

Prostitution is as good as being a good scholar or an actor or an athlete or a singer or a yoga teacher.
BUT if someone is doing something wrong then there is a strong case that there might be an external negative force which is forcing that person to do so. So if we simply stop judging or stop making false perceptions about others without even knowing the actual reason then we can stop being a hypocrite.

In short "Everything is right if that action pleases oneself but at the same time it should not disturb/impact others in a negative way."

Bt if someone does something wrong knowingly then we must come out of our comfort zone/convenience and should take a stand against such things.

PS- such actions should also b taken against ourselves, against our wrong or negative thoughts. It takes courage but results are far rewarding.
