a girl and her world

a girl and her world

A Poem by cheyenne s garcia

TO THE GIRL LOOKING BACK AT ME IN MY BEDROOM MIRROR. AND ALL GIRLS ALIKE. WHEN THE COMING-OF-AGE SPARKS YOU WILL SURELY IGNITE. LIKE A FIRE SO BRIGHT THE COLLISON WILL FLY, SPARKS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT SO PURE SO VIBRANT A GIRLS FIRST KISS ON A SUMMER NIGHT.

TO THE WOMAN-TO-BE, WELCOME BACK FROM A SERIOUS MISERY. TO LOVE IS TO DIE. YET DIVINE AND SO RIGHT, WE LIVE FOR THE MOMENT AND NOTHING ELSE WILL EVER SUBSIDE.

YOU ARE A STAR YOU ARE A GIRL, A LOVELY BATTLEFIELD OF SORCERY A PRINCESS OF MANIC DISPOSITIONS. WE ARE FOREVER YOUNG, BUT JUST A GIRL... SO BE ONE, WHEN THE MEANING OF LIFE GETS YOU DOWN REMEMBER TO SLEEP OFF THE SULK WITH A CROWN.

I SHALL ETERNALLY DEVOTE THIS ONE TO ALL GIRLS. WHEN YOU KNOW YOU’LL KNOW. BLOOD TEARS AND ALL.

CHOKING BACK TEARS, I BEGIN TO MAKE NO SOUND. BUT ALL THIS IS MATERIAL, SO WHATEVER. MAKE BREAK DAMN IT ALL TO HELL BREAKING THE BARRIER OF BEING SO STRONG, STEALING AND KISSING AT MIDNIGHT BOTTLES OF BOOZE GETTING CAUGHT AND FAKING IT All. JUST TO BE ON TOP. YOU ARE A FEARLESS ANGEL SO FREE SO WILD. BE IT YOU AND THE REST WHO NEVER RECONCILE. SO FREAKING TASTE THE PRICE OF FREEDOM. YOU ARE BOUNDLESS. YOU ARE A RECKON TO BE FORCED WITH. DAMN, THE REST. LET’S MAKE A WISH AND F**K THE BEST OF EM. F**K. IM A MESS A DRESSED DOLL WEARING A SMILE UNLIKE ALL AND WHEN WE COLLIDE AND THE BREAKERS CRASH JUST REMEMBER BABY BABY BABY WE WERE THE BEST.

Cheyenne,

This excellent piece of poetry stands as witness to the reality that Human Rights do (must) apply to each and every Human Being, regardless of gender (or gender preference), given Faith and/or Religion, Culture, Language, or Complexion (color, pigment, white, black, brown, yellow, what the hell ever any fool chooses to see over that of seeing Human Beings). Not only must it apply, in my book it does apply as each Human Being does inhabit his/her/their own Human Body, and said body is the personified and most personal property of each and every individual, regardless of that term men-as-Man choose to call Sex ...

If ever I read a dynamic Poem that speaks as witness and encouragement of all Women's Rights, this is it. And, I must say, well said and well done ...

Don’t let the worst of life get I. Your way you are a girl, soon to be a woman, don’t feel caged up, use your beauty and your mind to free yourself and don’t let anyone take advantage of you…you are a princess, and a strong one as well…..
Nice!
Best, B.

I liked the poetry. Like a song of defiance. I believe a caged life. A lousy life. Run with wind and dance with the sea till we cannot. Outstanding poetry dear Cheyenne. I did enjoy.
