Horse Teeth

Horse Teeth

A Poem by Cheyanna

Horse teeth,
I'm sorry that I was taught to hate you
That I hid you when I smiled
I'm sorry I tried to shave you down
As if you weren't the shape you were supposed to be
I'm sorry that I criticize you
Every time I look into a mirror
Horse teeth,
I never should have been ashamed
In the first place
You are what radiates in my smile
Big yet beautiful
I've had to learn to love you
As I cannot change you
You were meant to be this way
Not uniform, not perfection
I praise you
In all of your glory
That you shall never be hidden
Or undermined by those who see any different

I've got one tooth (bicuspid?) that is shorter than the other on the opposite side. It bothers the hell out of me.

You're quite poetic, nicely done. :)

Somebody should send your poem to all those Hollywood actors with perfect smiles and enormous orthodontic bills! Nicely done.
