Small Town Life

Small Town Life

A Poem by Cheyanna

to live in a small town
is to want to leave
as soon as you can get out of your house

it is the longing of the city
where life is always busy
and people are everywhere

it is to realize
they dont see the stars
that you are so used to gazing at

it is to see
you're no longer the only one out at 1 am
when you used to love walking only to the beat of your footsteps

it is to miss
the nature the city does not hold
the pure untouched serenity of mother earth

to live in a small town
is to realize as soon as you leave
that its all you could ever dream of

Nicely described, and I agree with both points of view. Experiencing both is a great thing. Even in a big busy city you can get small friendly neighborhoods. But I also returned to the peace of not just a small town, but a tiny hamlet.

I agree! I'm glad to have experienced both. Thank you!
I'm a small town guy who likes excursions to the city., There is something really nice about being from a small town. When I was younger I couldn't wait to get out, now I search for a place just like it.

Lovely poem, and so true.

I agree, it's good to have a change in scenery but our small towns are always at heart. Thank you!
I agree Cheyanna. We miss what we leave behind.

You are welcome dear Cheyanna.
Beauty piece of getting out of the confinement of a small town. Small town but big hell at time.
