EscapeA Poem by Patrick McCombs
The whole place smelled like a damn hospital; sterile and white
And then I broke out of there in the middle of the night And I felt utterly free I didn't know what it meant to be me But I was about to find out I cast aside the shackles of self doubt And I shall attack the world like a starving dog to a slab of meat I jumped and I manage to land on my feet. © 2013 Patrick McCombs |
