Chapter 1: The Starting Stage

A Chapter by Exotic Topics

The day was starting, she could feel the night slip away.  What cruel fate it was to have so little energy that the mere presence of the sun made being awake even more troublesome than normal.  She closed her piercing crimson red eyes and fell to her knees.  Her grip on this world faded, she collapsed into a dark void..

Sullen blue-green eyes flickered open as the sun began to rise in the east slowly with it's intense light, right onto the face of a young girl.  She winced slightly and lifted her hands to shield herself from the blinding rays.  Her head began to pound as she quickly moved into a sitting position.  She then started to hesitantly open her eyes, the scene before her now unfolded a sense of horror and dismay in her mind.  She took several steps forward toward the edge of the cliff that she had been laying upon.  Down below her rested even more of the hideous sight.  The mangled forms of angels surround her.  Their faces twisted with torture and fear.  She looked pessimistically down at her arms.  She already knew, but some part of her just wanted to check.  Maybe all this was just a dream.  Maybe none of this was...The hot liquid started to burn her skin as the sun reflected off the surface.  A feeling began to emerge inside her.  A feeling that she knew would eat at her soul and devour what little humanity that is left within her.
