If I could sing my pain away

Just a poem about how much singing frees me and the hope it brings.

If I could sing my pain away
I'd sing it till my lungs wear out
No need for tears or petty sobs
Just the cries of my heart coming out of my mouth

If I could sing my pain away
I won't hesitate to try
And sing until my voice turns coarse
Without anyone understanding why

If I could sing my pain away
Though you'll never know how I feel
I'd sing it all out anyways
My broken hope, all that will never heal

If I could sing my pain away
And let the words that I form wash over me
Will it turn into the strength that I will need
To face the sorrow before me?

If I could sing my pain away
With this broken voice of mine
I pray that it will carry all
My fears to the divine

If I could sing my pain away
And all my chains released
I know that I will be okay
And my heart will be at peace
