A Poem by morgan bellrow

the land before time

before we walked

before we talked

before rules and bills

before pain and thrills

before mistakes

before regret

before ettiquite

before our first ciggarette

'a time of awe

a time of love

a time of imagination

a time far above

the standards

we created

once we knew

how in this world

this life

we would be treated

before we took our roles

before we said our vows

before we paid for tolls

before we found what is not allowed

before we we dressed ourselves

before we ate our fruit

before we felt

what true bliss could be

and then we watched it

slip away from us

all too easiy

can we get it back

can we still play pretend

can we linger on for another day

or do we just wait until its our end

nothing is true and nothing is right

but in all this dark and hate

I can still see a faint light
