The Shadowed BeaconA Poem by Dusk's Dream. Dawn's Hope.A soul forever enshrouded in midnight's dark cloak. The Self forever caught by daylight. The mind forvever shattered. A song of woe plays in the west. A song of joy in the east. Which do I follow? Which brings the resolution I've so desperately searched for? Who am I now? A shadow forever caught between this world and the next, living but not. Or a gleaming light tarnished around the edges by a troubled life. Never one or the other, but two halves of a whole that refuse to fit together.
Shrouded by illusions and smoke. At peace only at night. Going on as if my happiness mattered. My story missing it's ideal cast. Darkness' demons make me their feast. Where is my beacon? Where is the path to lead me to my core? How do I get there without knowing how? Between darkness and light; eternally caught. Stabbed in the back with the sharpest knife. Never whole, forever torn, in darkness I am permanently tethered. © 2010 Dusk's Dream. Dawn's Hope.Author's Note
