No Matter What

No Matter What

A Poem by Jess Jules

Loving someone no matter what

Is a complicated thing

Because it comes with so many rules

I love you no matter what

But only if you love me back

But only if you’re not fat

But only if...

But only if...

No matter what

Is a complicated thing

Filled with ups and downs

No matter what

We’ll stay together

Yet next week we’re broken-up

No matter what

I’ll wait for you forever

But two months later you’ve moved on

Because forever takes too long

Love no matter what

Is a complicated thing

That’s truly meaningless to some

No matter what

I’ll love you everyday of my life

And on my death bed as I take my last breath

While you hold my hand and cry “I love you no matter what”

For always and forever

No matter what

Great write! Love it (no matter what)! The point the poem conveys is unfortunately, so true. I like how the phrase 'no matter what' starts out being this naive, pretend thing that people say just out of the idea that it's a romantic thing to say, into being serious, meaningful words that genuinely mean what they are. Love the repetition of
'Love no matter what
Is a complicated thing'
