Chance

For the next few days, I went to Starbucks for lunch, hoping to see her again. Day one passed and I didn't see her. Day two goes by with no hope. Then comes day three, day four, day five. I continued going until the week after. When all hope seemed lost and I was about to give up, there she was, walking gracefully through the cafe doors. I didn't know what to do so I tried to act cool. That failed miserably because my eyes were just hooked onto her. I decided that I was going to talk to her.

"Hey, remember me? Andy?"
"Oh hey! Yeah how could I not? You were a life save by helping me pick up my stuff. How are you?"
"I'm doing alright. Just here reviewing some notes and what not. How about you? How are you?"
"Ugh life's a b***h. I have so much to do and this is the only free time I get. It's kind of sad rather."
"Well if that's the case, let me buy you a drink. A grande green tea frappuccino per say? That ought to cheer you up."
"Well then, I can't say no to that!"

We sat back down and we talked for a good hour before she had to go.

"Well I need to get going, I have a busy evening ahead of me."
"Oh yeah sure. But uhm...before you guy, can I ask you something?"
"Well that depends on the question. [slight chuckle] What is it?"
"Do you...want to get together sometime? Like somewhere not here? Like maybe a movie or a dinner?"
"Are you asking me out on a date?"
"NO! Wait...yes? I don't want you to take it the wrong way..."
"[laughs] It's okay. Yes, I'd love to go on a date with you. Here's my number and email. Give me a call or text or whatever you please."

The moment she gave me her number, I was screaming on the inside. Though I did not know what to expect exactly, I now know that at least I have the chance to get to know her better.

The world seemed just a bit better, but for every uphill slope you get, there's always a downhill just waiting to happen.
