It was in high school when I met her. The year was 1998 and I was a senior. Time passed by so fast in my eyes that sometimes when I think back, memories only seemed like yesterday.
I was studying at the Starbucks a couple blocks down from my school. I had a calculus final that afternoon and I knew nothing; I didn't even know what chapter we were being tested on. I was cramming every chapter there was in the textbook when there she was; the most perfect girl to walk through the cafe doors. A blue Hollister polo with a black mini dress and flip-flops. She ordered a grande green tea frappuccino. Her voice was that of an angel, so heavenly. I was mesmerized by her smile. When I thought I couldn't get the chance to introduce myself to her, fate kicked in.
She walked past me and dropped her purse. All her belongings fell onto the floor. I got up and helped her put everything back.
"Hey, here you dropped this."
"Thanks a bunch. Mind picking up that pen for me?"
"Yeah no problem. I see you ordered a green tea frappuccino. I love that stuff."
"Really? Me too. I don't know but it's the only frappuccino I get from here. They give me extra cream so that's definitely a thumbs up."
"No doubt about that, the whipped cream gives it that extra kick! I'm sorry for being so rude but my name is Andy."
"Mine is Christina. I'd love to stay and chat but I gotta run. Thanks again for helping me pick up my stuff and nice meeting you. Bye!"
"It was nice meeting you too, you have a good day!"
And that ends my first ever conversation with her. It felt as though I was dreaming. I went back to my seat and all I could do was think about her. I ended up failing my math test because I couldn't study.
