Magnificent her.A Poem by j. w. lodwickThe sinner’s seas swirl in forgotten dreams of her;
the magnificent her—she who bears mine heart, a flick of the paint-brush, a dab, here and there, poetic schemes for sure; pain, and pleasure in hues bold, and blue, Words forgotten, words so true, singer sung for her,
lyric of pain, lyric of loss, lyric of obscure, artist’s tears, smears of tempting allure, ah, mine poetic death of the magnificent her… Fine stretch of words, words, and words,
tells tales of the missing lover, the missing her, it’s everything, it’s something, my lonely sensations, my cup filled of tears, tears impure, I could scream, needle pin-struck in arm, fill me in a gigantic rage she’s gone… gone for sure soul sung weak, soul sung simple, tremble, crumble, mutter, stutter, and forward to fall face first in the blackened trail, followers linger, followers try, followers beg, scream, and ask of the night: “Give to our leader …her” Seas of ears to hear my sorrow, hear my unrelated screams,
in guitaric symphonies, misery; artist scrambled, soul shot to their being, scene after scream of story-bound blur, my singing sung notes of the painful magnificent her, gone to the shadows, gone to the blur. Wrapped all the fine art, the talent, the tour,
night after year, tears smear cheek as pen scratches paper, I fear… fear that all we were is obscure, all of mine soul has been wrung through hell, shattered into shards for the magnificent her. We as artists sit in rage;
our words, our paint, our voices of loss, always the chase, always at cost, a waste, our years to grab on to her, the magnificent her that breaks thine glass hearts. I’ll die torn apart,
needle in arm, lyric by side, lost all pride, song sung by night, of the magnificent her. © 2009 j. w. lodwickReviews
