Hold on

Hold on

A Poem by chelwig

Hold on.

Hold on with all your might.

Hold on to the memories of the past.

Hold on to this time that won’t last.

Let go.

Let go of your troubles and your fears.

Let go of your worries and your tears.

Believe.

Believe in yourself and your friends.

Believe in your dreams so they never end.

Try.

Try something new.

Try letting go, and holding on too.

For your past is not today.

The future is not now.

Just treasure the present.

And you will prevail.

Repetition is a rather lovely way to go about writing a poem as not many people do so. Repetition isn't new, of course, but rhyme, which you also used in your poem, is the dominating factor in a poem by far. I like the mixture of both. Very well done!
