Gun in School

It’s my first day at college, my nails read. They are chewed in jagged patterns. Nail biting, I resort to when the nerves kick in.

I am not nervous about it being my first day at college but simply my plan. Upon my back sits a backpack. It’s black and is covered in zipper pulls and key chains. Hidden deep within my backpack is a gun.

I try not to act suspicious as I move around these innocent people. I see so many pretty faces, so many attractive faces, it’s a sad to think that I’m about to shoot and ruin them.

I think about taking the gun and burying it six feet under the ground, along with my evil plans. But no, this is just going to be way too much fun.

My buddy nudges my shoulder, our signal for go time.

I rip the Velcro of my backpack open and whip out a gun. A nerf gun. it shoots its foam bullets!

Bam! I hit a teacher. He gets struck with an orange foam bullet. Another one knocks a steaming cup of coffee upon Dale’s laptop!

I’m going crazy; I feel my control being lost. The room is a sea of orange foam pieces. Sorry janitor.

A bit of an inside joke! But I hope you enjoyed.
In case you are wondering a Nerf gun is a little toy gun that shoots foam. You can buy them at toy stores for kids :)

Oh and this is dedicated to Dale :)

I loved this! ^.^ I love the way you talk about the gun like it's real until it gets taken out and the shooting begins. I at first expected a sad story about a school shooting.
Me and a few friends have decided that at the end of this school year or as a senior prank we will get a massive amount of people to start a nerf gun war in the school, haha.

Ah the first day of college I remember it well, being nervous as to what my professors were going to think of me. Would they take me seriously as a student and things of that nature. Inside joke or not this poem would take the edge off any new college student. But when are you coming back and have you posted any recent work?

lol if you had just put the fact that its a nerf gun at the end! this would have been sooo cool. like a surprise to let me think it's a real gun you start shooting at everyone and I'm like O.o then at the very end you make the reader know its just a nerf gun ..you know? pretty fun essay though made me smile
