The One

The One

A Poem by Chelsea
"

The one, I'm waiting.

"

The One

Who are you?

Are you somebody already a part of my life, or somebody waiting to be met?

What do I have to do?

Am I fine as is, with all my flaws? Or do I have to step it up a notch or two?

Where will I find you?

Moving in high classes in society, or fighting to make it?

When will I find you?

Waiting length hours, pacing endless rooms

Why aren’t you here?

I want to be in my one and only’s arms, not trial running boys.

How come?

These questions aren’t answered.

Author's Note

Chelsea
I was thinking alot about "the one" guy for me. Haven't found him, the one I want to marry. So yeah just writing questions about it. I used the 5 w's.
Please tell me what you think.

I liked the expression the trial running boys. But life is a journey. You must enjoy the journey of searching for The One and meeting the Trial Running Boys in order to find The One. Your life will be much richer and you'll have so much more to share with him when you find each other. I really liked this poem. It made me think. Great job.

chill...one day you'll find that person who'll love and like you the way you are...that's why it's called "the one"..because that one person is really hard to find but will be found eventually...

Takes great luck and good timing for two people on the same road. A very good poem. You ask the questions the most of us ask often in a lifetime. A excellent poem. Better to go slow and easy. The Devils can hide in sheep clothing.

I have to echo everything that Marie Harrison said, precisely!

Enjoy the journey, enjoy the ride, but most of all find and love yourself first as the perfection that you are in the eyes of your creator.

All else will just naturally fall into place...

Very good write!

The way you approached this was spectacular. I loved that you were speaking to "the One" as if he was able to answer the questions. The line in which you wonder if he is already part of your life or yet to be met really stood out to me. A fascinating, connectible concept. Well done.

Well structured poem using the 5 W's and an H (H = How). It is the top question on the hearts of most single women and many single men regardless of age. It's an important question for many so many people yet I believe it is the wrong question for people to be asking.

I believe it is more important to find out who you are, what it is you enjoy, what you are good at and what God wants to do through you. Relationships and marriage complicate confuse things, so finding who you are becomes difficult. If you (and your future partner) know who you are before marriage, you will be in a better position to find your partner (and they you). Also 'Prince Charming' will come with baggage, just as you will from his point of view ;)

We are supposed to enjoy the journey, so find yourself and learn to like yourself. The rest will be revealed at the correct time.
