His canvas, empty. Filled day by day. Seven days, your work complete!

His Canvas

God’s canvas, empty

Creating scenery. Detail by detail. All perfection.

Slippery slopes, shimmering bodies of waters. You create land.

You fling the moon and sun into your skies; creating light

Splatter painting he does; spilling shiny stars

Darkened clouds painted about; fluffy white ones to go with.

Blowing to dry your painting. You breathe life.

You sweep the paintbrush across; animals following your lead

You work each face; feature by feature. A masterpiece each one of us are.

Satisfaction, you achieve. Your dear painting.

 

Author's Note

I was reading my bible and was struck by the thought of God creating the world. I know this poem will never live up to that but hey, I tried!

One word that comes to mind is humanity. You see a lot of that here with the words used in this poem. The imagery is once again fantastic. Each line flowing with the other. I could see this expanded a little more, maybe add in a line with the forests and deserts. Just a suggestion. Yet again another great piece of work.
