Running Away

Running Away

A Poem by Chelsea
"

A poem about making changes for the better in your life.

"

Running Away

My feet lug on in a steady rhythm

I run, without a care in the world

Just the breeze in my hair

I think nothing other than myself,

Not the ones I’ve hurt or should’ve loved

But something pulls, finally

I halt to a stop,

My feet skidding across the well traveled path

I see two trails, no longer just one

I hum and haw for a minute or two

And decide to run,

Run down the right path,

Leaving the wrong one behind,

In hopes of

Righting my wrongs

And starting over,

As a new person

You write well friend.

Far from the world of rejections, we are ready to help maximum people get published, as an incentive to them and also a way for our small team to feel pleased about doing what they wish to, that is help those who have a passion for writing.
I do suggest you submit a couple of your best poems to Golden Apple Ezine. We'll certainly publish you for issue 3 in January 2011 if you are interested to submit on any theme.
We are looking for and considering submissions right now for a special December issue too on Christmas.

Regards,
Golden Apple Ezine Team

this poem has got life in it "My feet skidding across the well traveled path"... breathing life into one's writing is probably the hardest thing to do, and in my book, you pulled it off. :)

Good concept, good rhythm. I think I would like to read why one path is the "right" one and the other is the "wrong". What specific characteristics distinguish the two? The halt that the speaker of the poem experiences is interesting and the image of the one path seperating into two definitely had me intrigued. Good work
