Swing

Swing

Swing

Round as a marble

In the center a hole taking after a doughnut

Feels like the gnarled skin of the old

Jump on it

Let it carry you

From side

To side

To Side

To Side

To Side

Throw back your head, shut your eyes

Feel as if you’re flying

Higher than high

Swing, swing, swing, from a tire swing

This is a wonderful poem. I enjoyed it because it reminded me of the joy of getting on a swing during childhood. Thank you for sharing your work.

well done. It reminded me of my Grandfather's old tire swing.

The structure was magnificent. The "swinging" words evoked a delighted grin. A lovely ode to a memorably entertaining device.

I have four children. A swing can bring joy and happiness to a child. With age we need bigger swings and challengers. I like this poem. A poem with the description of a simple thing as a swing. But the joy it can create in a life. A outstanding poem.

the last stanza is really amazing:) and the way how you put the 'to sides' all over the place was really creative.

I want it to be springtime in the South at a lovely hotel with a swing after reading this. Such a wonderful mood you set here - excellent!

This poem gave me a good feeling of freedom and peace of mind, but also a slight nausea...the smell of metal and sand in the old kiddy parks used to make me dizzy, in a bad, bothersome way. Thanks for writing. Keep it up.

This is a great way to describe the feeling of swinging on a tire swing. The form is a little different but the feeling of exhilaration is clearly felt and described.
