Poppy Day

Poppy Day

A Poem by Chelsea
"

A Remembrance day poem.

"

Poppy Day

We stand for two minutes of silence

Our eyes closed

Emotions flooding all

Remembering those who gave so very much for us

You left your family and friends behind

Risked all you ever had

All you ever worked for

In order to keep peace on the grounds I stand on

The trumpets sing their song

The sound lifts my heart

We are free

We are Canada

Very good, regardless of the country. (not that I have anything against Canada...just that the appreciation for our vets is most deserving)

I'm sorry for saying this but I can't relate to "canada", I liked this poem very much except for the last line. /: but that's just me I guess..

Oh, this is a wonderful love song to your country! I feel the same patriotic pride for mine...

I say well done. I clicked on it because of how interesting the title was.

I like the line "In order to keep peace on the grounds I stand on".

The trumpets sing they’re song - their

I like how simple this is, and I like how much more depth is has than the words simply printed on the page. It's also a poem which others can relate to - hence why I clicked on it :]

I especially liked the last four lines, it gives off that national pride. :]
