Shadow girl

How can people say 

She looks beautiful,

Why doesn't she see it,

All she sees is 

A shadow of a girl,

A hollow empty shell,

In what sense of the word

Is she petty,

All she sees is a damaged girl,

How can somebody love her,

How can someone look into her eyes,

How can somebody love

This shadow girl,

How can somebody say,

She's the sweetest girl they've met,

When all she sees is a bitter little girl,

How can somebody touch her,

Say how soft she feels,

When all she feels 

Are the roughness of the wounds

Why can't she see,

What everyone sees,

How did everything,

Get so twisted,

This broken little girl
