Silent and wanting to shout

Silent and wanting to shout

A Poem by chelie

She sits waiting
Wanting to scream
She wants to scream
Here I am!
Come find me
She wants to believe
That someone out there will love her
She just doesn't know how
She doesn't believe she is
Worthy enough for love
She wants to run and cry
Wants to escape her shell
She doesn't want to
Be afraid anymore
She is sick of fear
She wants to tell
The tormentors
I am me!
You will not hut me
She feels the courage building
But every time she hides instead
She remembers the words
The little remarks said to her
The snide comments about her
She remembers and is quiet
She sits in the back
She hides from the world
She hides and silently cries
Silently praying for a miracle
She just wishes it would stop
She considers many options
Many she knows is wrong
She only cracked once
After she tries to forget
She looks at her arms
A constant reminder
She looks at her family
A constant pang
A rememberence of how
She came so close to losing them
She lives in her mind, forever being
A slave to herself
She fears she will go insane
She has been struggling for years
She just wants to shout!
