Fragmentary

Fragmentary

A Poem by chaireinferrascalayca

You, who cared for me when I was young,

How could you abandon me?

You, with whom I spent my budding years,

How could you desert me?

You, who saw my first step, my first smile,

How could you just turn your back and leave?

You, who caused such joy to my life,

How could you be so unfair?

You, who built the very person I am now,

How could you break my heart?

You, with whom I had the fondest recollections,

How could you forsake me?

Now I crumble and fall

The tiny pieces of me slowly escaping…

Bit by bit I’m becoming empty.

I am no longer whole.
